Meet Nilah’s Amma, who runs a pickle business while running behind her kids every morning for school, always with a smile.
Amma lines up the pickle jars on the table, each one filled, sealed, and labelled with care. She checks the lids twice, wipes away a stray drop of oil, and wraps every jar just tight enough — not rushed, not careless. These jars are going to homes she hasn’t seen, to people who trust her hands and her recipes.
As she packs, she thinks of the women who helped make the pickles, the markets where the vegetables were chosen, and the kitchens where these jars will be opened. She adds a small note on top, folds the box closed, and ties the string firmly. It feels good, sending a little piece of her work, her effort, and her belief into the world.
Handcrafted with love by women of The Nilgiris, Amma is made from soft, upcycled fabrics and safe, child-friendly materials.
